It is never too early to start planning your new garden.
We can not stress this enough. If you are building a new home, your landscape design should happen at the planning stage even if the landscape implementation is not going to happen before two or three years.
Architecture, interior design and landscaping weave and feed each other so you will get a much better result understanding the whole picture of your home and garden from the outset with professionals that work together.
Planning from the beginning will ensure landscapers don’t have to start things over again which ends up costing you more. For example, they can plan already with your architect where the conduits for lighting, irrigation etc will go before your driveway is set in concrete!
This will also ensure that you have a clear budget in mind for the garden design and implementation.
There is nothing more incomplete and heartbreaking than to have a great new architecturally designed home and interior - and a garden that does not reflect this.
If you are renovating and refreshing your garden, this can be started at any time and again the same rules apply. Planning your garden is key!
And of course, the million dollar question is how much should I invest in my garden?
